Rare, stately American Federal tall case clock circa 1810, by Silas Hoadley of Plymouth. In extremely fine condition, crafted in refinished pine case and in working order. The case with arched bonnet with openwork carved fret and 3 turned wood ball finials with majestic pointed tops above an arched glazed door. The door is flaked by turned colonettes, centering a conforming arched white painted wooden dial embellished with a floral painted cartouche and spandrels, all outlined with gilding. The time track in Arabic numerals and fitted with the original pewter hands. The waisted case below with rectangle, hinged door above a molded base with bracket feet. Fitted with wooden works movement, pull-up weights and pendulum. Everything is original. Dial signed S. HOADLEY PLYMOUTH. Height to top of center finial 91".
This beautiful antique American Federal clock was proudly displayed in my late Grandmother's estate in Saddle River, NJ. It is in beautiful condition.
