One-of-a-kind monoprint (1/1) by Berlin-based artist Christine Haberstock (b. 1963), created in 1996 at Los Angeles’ renowned Self Help Graphics & Art print studio. Signed and dated in pencil, marked “M/P,” and embossed with SHG’s official blindstamp, this piece embodies Haberstock’s signature style—vibrant color fields, expressive brushwork, and bold portraiture.
Haberstock, originally from South Africa, studied at Otis Parsons and Art Center College of Design, building her career in Los Angeles throughout the 1990s before relocating to Berlin in 1999. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is represented by Maerz Contemporary in Oslo.
Self Help Graphics is a historic East LA printmaking hub, known for museum-level editions and collaborations with leading artists; works bearing its stamp are collected by LACMA, the Smithsonian, and the Library of Congress.
