This magnificent and rare Art Deco table clock is a quintessential piece from 1930s France. This striking timepiece embodies the elegance and dynamic spirit of the era, featuring a graceful gazelle captured mid-leap, poised alongside a circular clock face. The sculpture of the gazelle is masterfully crafted in patinated metal, showcasing intricate detailing and a rich, deep hue. The animal's powerful form and elegant lines are characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic, emphasizing movement and sophistication. The gazelle rests upon a finely sculpted, verdigris-patinated base, suggestive of natural terrain. The clock itself is housed within a beautiful, circular marble surround, framed by a delicate brass bezel. The simple yet stylish numerals and hands reflect the clean lines favored in Art Deco design. Both the gazelle sculpture and the clock are mounted on a substantial and luxurious rectangular base of genuine Portoro marble. This highly prized Italian marble is renowned for its dramatic appearance, featuring a deep black background strikingly veined with golden-yellow accents, as vividly seen in the provided images. The contrast between the dark marble, the bronze, and the lighter clock face creates a visually stunning and harmonious composition. This desk or mantel clock is not merely a time-telling instrument but a significant work of sculptural art, perfect for discerning collectors of Art Deco pieces. Its impressive scale and the quality of its materials make it a true statement piece for any luxury living space, study, or executive office. The clock it's in working order. See less
