Whatever the … Read more This whimsical, fun-to-look-at highly glazed fine earthenware lettuce ware footed cachepot’s textured ribs heighten its sense of realism. Whatever the reason or season, this beauty, filled with English ivy or any flowing vine type plant, will add color, charm and texture to any tabletop. Photos were taken in the round to show all sides and any varying shades and nuances of the cachepot’s color and texture. This beauty measures 8¼” x 8¼” x 7¼” W/D/H; interior 7” x 7” x 6” W/D/H; weight 2 lbs. 15 oz.; handcrafted from highly glazed fine earthenware finished in varying shades of green. Water tight; no drainage hole. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear which includes crazing to the interior of the finish. Of note, there is a chip to one of the feet that is not very discernible (see photos 6, 7, 8 & 16) which does not affect the overall beauty or utility of the vessel. There is no makers mark to be found. The style is similar to majolica ware crafted by Mottahedeh, Dodie Thayer, Secla, et al and/or fine ceramic ware from Portugal or Italy. We believe this beauty was crafted in the mid to late 20th-century.
