The round seat is embellished with a circular inlay of leather, neatly edged with brass nailhead trim, lending both texture and refinement. The seat back is particularly distinctive, featuring an inlaid leather design in the form of a stylised cross, likewise secured with brass nailheads, making for an arresting and highly original detail.

The chair is fashioned in ebonized wood, its deep, dark finish setting off the warmth of the leather and the patina of the brass to striking effect. The form is further enlivened by the ball finials which crown the back posts—a playful flourish within the otherwise earnest Arts and Crafts sensibility.

Compact in scale yet full of presence, this chair would serve beautifully as a decorative accent or occasional seat.
