This Really is a Great Looking Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Crock. It is Rendered in the Small & Desirable 1 Gallon Size. It has the Added Feature of "Ears" ( Side Handles ). The Front has a Well Executed Hand Decorated Beautiful Blue Stylized Flower Design. The Front is Embossed - Signed by the Well Documented Maker HAXSTUN OTTMAN & CO. in FORT EDWARD NEW YORK ( in Business From 1867 to 1872 ). It has a Nice Uniform Color Salt Glaze Exterior with a Dark Caramel Color Interior. It is in Very Good All Original Condition - Strong and Sound - Displays Beautifully. Imperfection Noted - It has Tight Hairline Crack on the Back Side that Extends Down From the Top Rim. There is Small Chip at the Base Perimeter but Note that on Close Examination is Glazed Over Confirming that it is a Kiln Flaw and Would Have Occurred in the Firing Process.
It Measures Overall Approx
7 1/2 inches Tall
8 3/4 inches Long ( Handles Inc ).
8 1/4 inches Wide at Top Rim.
