This fine quality hand-pressed set of four lowball beauties are nicely weighted with a whimsical stylized Hawaii-themed motif. Attributed to Federal Glass but also in a style that Libbey Glass would have produced, as well. Each glass features a variety of fired-on themes, locations or activities one would associate with Hawaii such as hula dancers, outriggers, surfing, Diamond Head, orchids and sunset cruises. Hand pressed glass is created by pouring liquid glass into a steel mould and pressing it with a manual plunger. This particular technique is excellent for any glassware that requires firing on or embossing designs or colors. Many companies during this period made quality glassware to produce elegant glassware entirely by hand. Evidence of the mould is rarely seen on these pieces and they're not traditional examples of moulded glass. 14 oz. capacity per glass; each measures 3½” x 3½” x 4½” W/D/H; together the set weighs 2 lbs. 12 oz. In excellent condition with crystal clear glossy glass with no etching or scratches; overall in beautiful age-appropriate condition! Hand washing is recommended if you wish to keep the glasses looking as they do in the photos for years to come. Clear transparent glass with black fired-on motif. The set includes four glasses.
