This listing is for a rare antique Irish bracket clock
This clock is quite gorgeous featuring a lacquered wooden case, bronze ornamentation, a silver tone dial, and an 8 bell triple chain fusee movement.
The clock was made by Philip Glasco & Son of Dublin Ireland, circa 1770-1790.
The Glasco family was known for clockmaking beginning with Thomas Glasco in the early 18th century.
His son, Philip was in business starting around the 1740s. Philip Jr joined during the 1760s until his death in 1770. Philip Glasco III was born in 1769 and continued until around 1800.
This clock has quarter strike feature that plays a tune on 8 bells every 15 mins.
This clock is huge and extremely heavy.
The clock itself measures about 12.5 x 9.5 x 19.5 inches (including feet and finals).
The clock appears to be in overall good condition for its age. It’s quite an incredible piece.
The movement was last serviced in 2019.
It ran when recently tested.
Please note that any mechanical clock that is shipped might require adjustments upon arrival, and thus time accuracy/running cannot be guaranteed
Note: for safest shipment, we will ship the movement separately from the case as it is very heavy. The bottom can be unscrewed, allowing for the movement to be simply removed if necessary

It’s quite an incredible piece. The movement was last serviced in 2019. It ran when recently tested. There are some signs of normal wear and age. For example, there are a couple of natural age lines in the wood (typical for bracket clocks of this age). One small piece of trim is missing above one of the panels on the left side. Skeleton key for back door is included. Front door is unlocked and opens/closes with ease. No front door skeleton key however. less
