This really is a Great Looking & Very Unusual Pair of Authentic Antique English Staffordshire Pottery Dog Figures. Large Size Each Measuring Overall Approx 12 1/2 inches Tall. Staffordshire Figures were Produced in a Vast Number of Styles and Variations for Many Years in England, Scotland & Wales. They were Produced for Decorative Purposes and Typically Displayed on Fireplace Mantles. Also Note that Some of the Different Styles & Themes of Staffordshire Figures were Produced were to Depict English Folklore.
They Come from the Classic Victorian Era - Circa Mid to Late 19th Century ( Approx 1870 ). Hollow Construction with Very Nice Molded Features. They Also Have Beautiful Hand Decorated Multiple Color Features. The Set is in Very Good All Original Condition - No Damage - No Repairs. They Do have Some Surface Imperfections Surface Only Glaze Cracks, Colors & Textures Etc. They were Produced in England for the Masses in Large Quantities by Many Producers During the Mid to Late 19th Century.. Each one was individually Hand Made & Decorated. They were Fired in Large Batches & Kilns so It is Not Uncommon to se Glaze & Color Variations as Well as Kiln Related Surface Imperfections.
Each Measures Overall Approx. 11 1/2 inches Tall
10 inches Long.
4 1/2 inches Wide.
