Fabulous Alpine Swiss folk art red clay slipware pottery jug makes for a perfect vessel to display live (or faux) blooms or for use as a decorative accent. Its whimsical shepherd and lamb pastoral motif will complement a rustic, farmhouse or cabin-type decor. Handcrafted by Kohler Keramik, a pottery studio founded by brothers Stefan and Markus Kohler sometime in the 1970s in Biel, Switzerland. The studio closed in 1995. It measures 7½” x 5½” x 5½” H/W/D; weight 1 lb. 8 oz. Handcrafted from red clay indigenous to the area with a highly glazed brown finish. Colors include olive green, cornflower blue with accents of tan and pale almond. In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear, if any. Makers mark on the underside. Photos were taken in the round to show all sides and any varying shades and nuances of color and texture.
