These two antique chromolithograph book plates are from Walter Crane's "Flora's Feast: A Masque of Flowers". Crane was a pre-eminent Victorian illustrator, and this book is an example of Walter Crane doing what he did best - creating a whimsical world of flower-adorned characters on an adventure. Crane's drawings are matched to some of Shakespeare's better known floral verses.
