A Continental walnut side table from the late 19th - early 20th century, late Victorian era Renaissance Revival style, Tudor taste, monumental in size, unique design, architectural, very solid, sturdy and strong. Having a rectangular single board top with molded edge and central stain, adding historic depth, character and charm, over richly decorated applied embellishment mounted corbel form apron, elegantly rising on two pair of turned baluster-form column supports with elaborate hand carved detailing, joined by lower tier under-shelf stretcher, terminating on four substantially sized feet.
The European antique, circa 1900, as warm and attractive as it is functional and versatile. It can be used many different ways including as an end table, work table, hall or foyer table, bedside nightstand, lamp stand, sculpture or statue pedestal, small writing desk or as a decorative accent piece by itself.
Provenance:
Acquired from the estate of the late T. Boone Pickens (1928-2019). An American business magnate, billionaire, financier, and philanthropist.

J. Garrett Auctioneers had the pleasure of presenting Pickens' collection of 18th and 19th Century furnishings and accessories. This piece comes from the iconic Texas and Oklahoma oil tycoons Mesa Vista ranch in the Texas panhandle.
The breadth of T. Boone Pickens' career is impressive. He built one of the largest independent natural gas oil companies in the United States and flourished as an entrepreneur thereafter, generating hundreds of billions of dollars in the process. Among his lengthy accolades, Time magazine has identified him one of its "100 Most Influential People", Financial World named him "CEO of the Decade" in 1989, and Oil and Gas Investor identified him as one of the "100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum Century."
