This rare, gorgeous 8n inch botanical, pearlware plate comes from the Creil et Montereau factory, a renowned French producer of faience fine (lead-glazed earthenware). The visible mark "Creil et Montereau" confirms its origin.
Creil et Montereau faience originated in the French communes of Creil and Montereau, known for introducing and perfecting transfer printing on pottery in France during the 19th century
