The hand-built figure strikes a joyful pose, with wide, exaggerated limbs and expressive movement, channeling the playful, radical spirit of postmodernism.

Finished in glossy lavender glaze with saturated accents of yellow, red, green, and teal, the surface is decorated with whimsical marks, abstract symbols, and the word “YES!!!” on the chest. Two yellow “ear-like” flourishes flank the head, and the raised hand is capped in red to function as a candle cup. The piece is signed and dated “CYC/J. Sanders ©1987” on the underside.
