The veneer is complete, however, there are slight minor scratches that can be noticeable due to the antiqueness. There is no separation in the wood. The wooden knobs are in good working order and the drawers pull out easily. The desk is sturdy and offers a steady writing surface. The casters are also in working order and glide smoothly. There are small ink stains inside the right drawer. Overall good condition for its age. We can provide more images upon request. Does not come apart when shipping. less
