Classic vintage stacked rattan desk by Paul Frankl and Ritts Co., this desk features a sturdy rattan frame, solid mahogany top and drawer fronts, seven smooth-gliding drawers, and a striking Palm Beach, coastal, and tropical look. Measures 27” high x 52” wide x 18” deep
Paul Frankl was an Austrian-American architect and furniture designer known for his Art Deco and Mid Century Modern designs, particularly his skyscraper furniture and stacked rattan pieces. His work with rattan, like this desk became highly recognizable and sought after. Frankl came to New York just before the depression after a great run designing his skyscraper furniture line. He designed and decorated the homes of Hollywood's top stars and producers from his Beverly Hills Shop.
