Beads are strung on copper wire. Has excellent interior metal support. The shade center mount is sits on the regular size socket with the bulb screwed in through the top. Once in place the shade will cover from the top of the socket down approximately 2.75” leaving approximately 5.25” to extend above the socket. See the pictures for detailed measurements.
