A fine & well proportioned early 18th century George I antique Irish walnut & burl lowboy, circa 1720.
The overhanging top having quartered burl walnut and is edgebanded, below are three drawers that are nicely hand dovetailed. There are two deep drawers at each side with the original brass 'batwing' handles, the smaller central drawer with the original brass escutcheon/lockplate (key is present). The side panels are decorated with the original scumbling to match the burl walnut, the front has a cyma curved & arched kneehole front, the lowboy with four tapered cicular legs raised on pad feet. Condition is very good, the lowboy has just lovingly received a wax polish in Bloomsbury's professional workshops. This very elegant early 18th century antique lowboy is ready to grace your space.
