William IV period library table in it's original patina.
Writing surface showcases the beautiful grain in the timber and the slightly contrasting cross banded border. Rounded corners with reeded detailing around the top edge. Reeded detailing is continued in a cartouche shape on each corner with ebonised molded detail in between. 3 drawers above the knee, fitted with replaced ornate brass handles and ebonised molding. Dummy drawers to the reverse, making this desk free standing. Raised on a pair of scrolled supports and splayed carved legs, united by a turned stretcher and finished with brass castors.
Fine quality piece and much has been done to maintain it's original patina and condition. Surface marks to woodwork. Replaced handles which would of been a change of fashion choice. Recently re-polished by hand in our workshop.
