| Often found in clear glass, the White Glass version makes these snack plates a RARE find! |
The designer of the Georges Briard pieces was Russian born as Jakub Brojdo in 1917. At age 20, he moved from Poland to Chicago in 1937, and changed his name to Jascha. Jascha served in WWII under George S. Patton and attended the Art Institue of Chicago where he met Max Whiley. Max encouraged Jascha to brand his commercial pieces with the name, Georges Briard. His Glassware, Tableware, and Barware are highly collectible today and represent a passion for the art and beauty that surround us. Jascha passed away in New York, 2005, at the age of 88.
