A striking and rare offering: six complete place settings (36 pieces total) of Bob Patino’s handcrafted forged steel flatware from the 1980s. Known for his sculptural approach to design, Patino created this set with weight, texture, and modernist integrity in mind. Each piece is forged from heavy-gauge stainless steel, featuring tapered handles with a raw, tactile finish that nods to both brutalism and artisan minimalism.
Unlike the mass-produced “Windows” pattern designed for Berndorf, this collection reflects Patino’s earlier, more intimate craftsmanship—possibly a limited gallery series or special commission. The asymmetrical knife blades and hand-finished handles elevate everyday dining into a design-forward experience.
Includes:
• 6 Dinner Forks
• 6 Salad/Dessert Forks
• 6 Dinner Knives
• 6 Butter/Spreader Knives
• 6 Soup Spoons
• 6 Teaspoons
Details:
• Designer: Bob Patino
• Origin: USA, 1980s
• Material: Heavy-gauge stainless steel
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition with rich patina; gentle surface wear consistent with age and use

Discovered in the heart of Soho in 1987, this exquisite flatware set was part of a limited-edition collection designed by renowned tastemakers Bob Patino and Vincente Wolf—visionaries celebrated for their impact on luxury interiors and modern tableware. The original run sold out within weeks and was never produced again. (A later, mass-market version by Pottery Barn bears little resemblance to the elegance and quality of this original.)
This particular set has a story. As one of the most sought-after makeup artists in the high fashion industry, I used this flatware to host dinner parties for photographers, top models, and creatives from Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and beyond. Set against the backdrop of my country home in Milford, Pennsylvania—with views of the pool, gardens, and surrounding mountains—this flatware was part of evenings filled with laughter, wine, and impeccable style.
Offered now for the discerning collector or design aficionado who values authenticity, rarity, and legacy. This is more than a flatware set—it’s a piece of fashion and design history.
