Completely charming set of four decorative plates featuring hand decorated appliques on ceramic depicting a Gibson girl style lady and turn-of-the-century style man with two daughters in period attire. I assume these were made from craft kits that allowed for individual artistic style. The set is made from simple scallop plates which have been painted black on the rims and then charmingly embellished with felt, fabrics, ric-a-rac, netting and sequins in shades of aqua, yellow, tan and black. Each character has been given a name...Eleanor, Sal, Linda and Michelle...the perfect dinner companions! No maker's mark. Display in stands or in plate hangers for a touch of vintage whimsy.
Good vintage condition with some loss of paint decoration and a little soiling to the appliques though nothing objectionable.
Each plate measures 9.25" diameter x 1" tall.
