From Copeland Spode, in the George III pattern, a serving platter, in a size often called a Bacon platter, circa early 1920s.
“Spode’s George III” was manufactured by WT Copeland & Sons Ltd. of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, especially for Harrod’s of London, and is now discontinued.
The bright, hand enameled pattern shows a bird pecking at a basket of fruit.
Additional sprays of both fruit and flowers are set against an overall background sheet pattern of delicate blue daisies on a white background.
Measures: 9.75 in. L x 7 in. W x 1 in. H
Marked: Blue printed Copeland Late Spode backstamp, with a registration number, and Spode’s George III. Impressed mark: Copeland over crown.
