Design Plus Gallery presents a Faux Marble Framed "The Stubbs Zebra" after George Stubbs from Chelsea House. A handsome portrait of the first zebra ever seen in England, executed in oil on canvas after the 18th Century original by George Stubbs. The painting is one of his best. The zebra was given Queen Charlotte in 1762 and was installed in the Royal Menagerie at Buckingham Gate. The elegant painting is framed in black Chelsea faux marble. Is in good condition with minimal wear.
