This deep green leaf pattern featured on the Full-Design Dinner Plate, originating from Orvieto, circa the 12th century, displays the singing rooster. This rooster, introduced by Deruta ceramicists in the early 20th century, has become a familiar icon in Italian ceramics and Majolica pottery.
