This is a large bowl hand-crafted by the potter T.S. Woodruff in 1994. He was an artisan who studied and traveled all over the world and whose works were highly collectible at the time and sold in galleries and high end department stores. His motifs were often southwestern. This piece depicts impressed green glazed frogs alternating with colorful stepped designs set against a salmon or coral colored glazed interior. The interior has added interest through the crazing technique of small cracks that help reflect light. The exterior is a beautiful rich turquoise color.
This bowl has no chips or cracks and is in excellent condition. There are pieces of dark green felt on the bottom to prevent scraping on a surface. This is a beautiful piece of décor, but could also be used as a serving dish.
