* A Maru obi is a type of Japanese kimono sash that is considered the most formal. It's a wide, double-sided obi made from one large piece of fabric, folded in half and sewn shut. Maru obi are known for their heavy brocade construction, full patterning, and often feature gold and silver threads. The entire length of the obi is covered in elaborate patterns in multi colors and Gold and Silver threads.

This obi showcases a pair of houou or hoo birds (phoenix) on top of sensu (folding fans) and surrounded in various florals. Phoenix are considered yokai (mythical spirits) in Japanese folklore. They usually symbolize renewal and rebirth, as well as peace and prosperity because they don't cause harm to others. The color palette has shades of brown, with a mix of greens and orange.
