A French Art Deco torchere circa 1930, in nickeled finish hammered iron.
The standing lamp features a large, molded frosted art glass globe signed by the renowned glassmaker Muller Frères of Luneville, France. This particular globe, known as Boule aux Bandeaux, was produced in two sizes. The version presented here is the larger variant, with a diameter of ~ 10" / 25 cm, shown mounted atop the standing lamp base. A beautiful pattern of Intersecting bands of geometric patterns circumvent the entire sphere, while the base in a matte, med- light grey color is a combination of fluid scroll and leafage trellising around the column stem and ending in a tripodal base.
