Nice two-piece French mantle clock. Inside works are marked chvcne 7704 which refers to France. This clock is a nice classical style casted metal case, with an elegant style French artist painting someone's portrait as its main theme. It is in a faded gild finish and retains three hand painted Seve's style porcelain portraits plaques. This clock dates around the late 1800's. The clock does run and it does chime on the hour and half hour. There is no back over on the clock works and it would take some fussing with after shipping. These clocks are really beautiful to look at and can be displayed in any room of you home. Early wind-up clocks takes that special person who really appreciate older time pieces and how they work.
