of circular form, with 'swami work' decoration comprising a band of chased and repousse lobed medallions depicting various deities around a central roundel, the raised lip with openwork twisted cobras

The tray is repoussed in high relief with ten narrative figures.
Each figure is enclosed in a scalloped circle.
This tray is without repairs, splits or dents. It was sourced from within the UK and almost certainly has been in the UK since colonial times.

Burma/India
circa 1870

The figures are from Indian mythology but are dressed in Burmese-style garb. Most probably, this plate was made in Burma for an Indian client.
