This is the Wedgewood Torbay green pattern which … Read more Antique Queensware Wedgewood Etruria and Barlaston China embossed with vines and flowers. This is the Wedgewood Torbay green pattern which was designed in the 19th Century. Hand painted with a blue dot and Torbay green rim. I have 6 plates 5 in very good antique shape. One of the plates has crazing in the middle and a hair line fracture on edge see last photos. Wear appropriate for age. The plates all have embossed 4kb on the back which I am told means after 1924 and before 1930. Since 1769 and 1860 started Impressing directly in the bodies of Queens ware. From 1860 used was a three -digit date code. 'England' added in 1891. Embossed on plates is Made in England. This was done so they could trade in America. I believe without seeing a expert that these plates were made between 1924 and 1930 making them a genuine antique and more valualbe. These plates are elegant enough for a formal gathering or casual enough for a luncheon. I am told the size is on the cusp of dinner or luncheon. No longer in production See less
