This tureen was manufactured … Read more 19th Century White Ironstone Soup Tureen with Lid is a lovely piece of Victorian-era English Pottery. This tureen was manufactured by the J.&G. Meakin company in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. The lid is domed with a fruit-shaped handle and has a a ladle notch (ladle included). Scrolled side handles with molding detailing, typical of Meakin's lines. High-gloss white glaze finish. Maker's mark on bottom features a coat of arms, with a lion and unicorn flanking a central shield--symbols traditionally associated with the British royal arms. Tureen is generous in size, made to serve large family meals or formal dinners. See less
