Not Marked but it … Read more This is a Great Looking Original Antique American Stoneware Boston Massachusetts Advertising Jug. Circa Early 1900s. Not Marked but it is an Approx 1 Gallon Size. It is Rendered in the Classic Two Color Jug Form - Style. The front is Decorated with Black Lettering - Reads H. A. JOHNSON CO. HEADQUARTERS FOR BAKERS & CONFECTIONERS SUPPLIES BOSTON - MASS. Back in the Day These Type of Jugs Given to Customers from Numerous Retail and Wholesale Establishments that Included Grocers - Wine and Liquor Merchants Etc. So that They Could be Used and Refilled on Future Purchases. It is in Excellent Condition - Displays Greatly. One Small Surface Glaze Bubble Chip on Front - Right Side of Advertising but This Would Have Occurred in the Making - Kiln Firing Process. No Cracks - Perfectly Usable if So Desired.
