Looks like a space needle, but it is an ingenious, engineering design element, whereupon one can adjust the lamp to your desired height.

The lowest height floor lamp can be lowered to is 42" H, and raised up to 64"H. Can be used utilized at end or the side of sofa, adjacent to tables, between a pair of chairs, or by a club chair for reading, or an office space, as well as almost any inclusive, interior environment capability.

Originally wired for Italian Market, but recently professionally re-wired for the American market, including a floor on/off step switch button, and professionally polished and sealed.

This floor lamp is made of very high quality material with an emphasis on product details. It's weight is appropriately distributed and is still an excellent quality piece.
