Habert-Dys (1850-1930) was … Read more This is a rare set of 5 antique French Art Nouveau chromolithographs by the well known Habert-Dys. Habert-Dys (1850-1930) was an Decorative Art artist best known for his motif designs of plants, flowers, animals, and insects. His designs were used for ceramics, wall paper, and fabrics. His most significant career achievement was when he was asked to design ceramic table service for the Exposition of 1889. He won a gold medal for this project which was known as "Fantaisies Decoratives". These 5 chromos are designs from that 1889 collection. RARE to find 5 together! These are classic Art Nouveau images that feature motifs of nature. Note the details and intricacies. These designs are done in neutral color tones. Habert-Dys frequently used metallic gold inks in his works; note this in the center image with the mulitple plates. These images are clean and pristine! The images measure 8.75 x 12.25 inches to the lithograph imprint. See less
