Display this antique A.S. Hinds Portland, Maine glass apothecary bottle as decor on a living room fireplace mantle or vintage bathroom shelf. The vintage glass pharmacy bottle has embossed lettering and its original glass stopper.
The antique bottle is in good condition showing wear consistent with its age and use. The vintage glass bottle was given a rinse but not a deep cleaning to preserve its antique patina.
Aurelius Stone Hinds began his career in 1862 as a drug clerk in an apothecary store in Portland, Maine. Before long, he purchased his own drug store and created line of apothecary products, most notably Hinds Honey and Almond Cream. Moving his operation to a new and larger laboratory in 1889, he continued to grow his business until he sold it to Lehn & Fink in 1907.
