Set of 3, beautiful blue and off white Wedgwood transferware dinner plates in excellent condition. The image shows three Wedgwood plates commemorating Columbia University. These plates are part of a series produced by Wedgwood, a British pottery company founded in 1759. The plates feature blue and white transferware designs, a technique popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, depicting different buildings on the Columbia University campus. The text around the rim of the plates reads "IN LVMINE TVO VIDEBIMVS LVMEN" which is Latin for "In thy light shall we see light," the motto of Columbia University.
