This is a cast Brass Antique large Ink Well. It's market as a Jennings Brothers piece. The design is in the Trompe L'Oeil style of a Lion. The piece has a hinged lid and the hinge has pulled away from the well. It's in place and can be repaired by a tack weld. There are several drain holes in the bottom and its missing the original stoppers. These will need to be replaced if you plan to fill it with ink. JBN
