Beautiful and large sommerso Murano glass bowl designed by Flavio Poli (Italy, 1960s/1970s). Made of thick red, dark red and transparent Murano glass. Perfectly works as a bowl, a catch-all / vide poche or as an ashtray. Width: 17 cm/6.7''; depth: 12.5 cm/4.9''; height: 5.5 cm/2.2''. Very good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks.
''Sommerso'' is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1960s/70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
