It has the most exceptional quality chinoiserie handpainting in delicate gold on black that we have ever found and is an amazing piece. It unusually has very detailed painted scenes on the side of the body too and a rare black face The clock body paint with subtle gold detailing has the usual wood movement and paint distressing found in clocks of this age. We will fit a battery chiming mechanism to the clock for you as the original mechanisms are very unreliable. We can do this without any damage to the clock and you will still receive the original clock mechanism separately 'as is' with the clock to keep in a cupboard. See less
