An emblematic piece of the Napoleon III era, this Parisian clock called Œil de Bœuf is a clock with a hexagonal frame in blackened wood enhanced by brass inlays which provide a unique visual richness. The white marble dial is enhanced with blue Roman numerals painted on porcelain and surrounded by small, meticulously crafted bronze frames. This dial is surrounded by a beautiful bronze frieze. The clock is notable for its scrolled brass, colored mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell inlays in the “Bolle” spirit. This decorative object combines exceptional craftsmanship and a refined aesthetic, characteristic of this period.
