Antique Burmese Black Monk Offering Bowl Set
Burmese black lacquered offering bowl is called a hsun kwet. it is unique to Burma and was used to present offerings of food at buddhist monasteries. There are three bowls and two trays in a circular shape and topped by a stepped lid. the inside is a cinnabar color. the sides are ribbed and sits on six small feet. The bottom bowl would have been used for rice and the others for curries and condiments.
