Transitional … Read more This is a Great Looking - Very Unusual Antique Copper Wall Mount Kitchen Salt Box. Circa very early 1900s. Transitional Victorian - Arts and Crafts period. It is completely hand made - hand wrought in heavy gauge solid copper. Multiple piece construction with copper rivet fasteners and exposed solder seams on the back. The hinged lid has a attached piece on the front so it snaps - stays shut. It has no maker or origin marks but I purchased it on one of my recent picking adventures in the Lancaster Pennsylvania region and I believe that it was made here in the USA. It is in untouched - as as survived over the years condition. It has a few dents at the front of the sugar canister and on the base - perimeter. These would have occurred from normal use over many years. It has a nice natural aged patina but it could certainly be polished if so desired.
It is quite heavy weighing over 3 1/2 pounds.
Large size! - it measures overall 10 3/4 inches tall X 8 3/4 inches long X 7 3/8 inches wide.
