A gorgeous Early American Pressed Glass pedestal cake stand, in a Beaded Raindrop pattern, circa 1890 -1900.
Made of nonflint, clear molded glass, this tall and heavy stand has a thick pedestal stem with a central starburst pattern.
The top surface also shows a starburst pattern in the center with a heavy beaded rim.
A sturdy, graduated circular footing.
Not to be confused with Imperial Candlewick, which came many years later, this is a Candlewick-type pattern sometimes called ‘Banded Raindrop’ or ‘Cole’.
A versatile stand that mixes well with other patterns, vintage or modern.
