Beautiful pocket emptier or plate made in the 1960s by Renato Toso for the historic and important family company Fratelli Toso.
Renato Toso was one of those designers who knew how to reinterpret the tradition of Murano glass without ever betraying its essence.
Raised in a family environment linked to design and art, he has always had an experimental approach, trying to combine Murano craftsmanship with a more contemporary language.
What made him innovative was not just the use of traditional techniques, but the way he reinvented them.
He played with transparency, with the superposition of layers, with color and with shapes, creating objects that were not simple furnishing accessories, but true functional works of art and this pocket tray is a splendid example of this.
Made of transparent and red glass, it was handcrafted in the furnaces of Venice in the late 1960s and still bears the original production label.
