Made by Wilkinson and Hume in Burslem, England. They made Ironstone for approximately 5 years from 1881-1885. Hence our approximate date of 1881-1885 for the manufacture of the item.
The item has no chips or cracks, except two small imperfections as shown in the pictures, minimal ware to the paint, it is in very good condition.
It measures approximately 12 " by 8."
This Ironstone pattern was produced at Central Pottery a location in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Central Pottery had been owned by Richard Alcock a well-respected earthenware manufacturer. Alcock died in 1881 and Central Pottery was acquired by Wilkinson and Hume.
Alcock's reputation was such that the stamp also says, "Late Richard Alcock."
Hume retired from the business in 1885. Wilkinson continued in business at Central Pottery under the name A. J. Wilkinson Ltd. He died in 1891.
