Whimsically fun to-look-at, the exterior of this oval and cylindrical in-shape bamboo wood lidded tea box is clad in eye-catching rattan and rice mat on the backside and both left and right sides. On the front you will find hand painted symbols and a mother of pearl and jade relief carved dragon. A fanciful stripe and geometric design will be found on the lid’s top and at the bottom of the base of the box. Quite a bit of time and creativity went into the making of this humble tea box! The interior of the box is foil lined, as is the interior part of the lid. The interior box lip and lid’s rim is lined in rice paper. The lid presses on easily with a snug fit. Makers two-line stamp on the underside is faded but the bottom line is legible enough to see it was made in China, in the mid 20th-century to early 1970s. This cutie measures 7¼” x 4” x 3” H/W/D; interior 6½” x 3¼” x 2¼” H/W/D; weight 5 oz. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear.

A fabulous decorative storage box for tea, of course, or a boho chic decorative accent to complement most any style!
