This really is a Great Looking, Unusually Large & Rare Size Original Matched Pair of Authentic Antique English Staffordshire Pottery Dogs - Spaniels. Each Measures Overall Approx. 15 1/2 inches Tall x 12 inches Long x 8 inches Wide. They Come from the Classic Victorian Era - Circa Mid to Late 19th Century ( 1860s - 1870s ). Hollow Construction with the Earlier Style Fully Glazed Underside - Bottom Surfaces. They have Excellent Detail in the Lifelike Molded Features. Also Note that They have the Very Desirable Added Feature of an Articulate ( Separated From the Body ) Front Leg!. They are in Very Good Overall Original Condition and They Display Beautifully!. 1 Dog Only ( Seated Facing Left ) has a Few Minor Age and Use Related Imperfections as Follows - A Very Old ( Age Stained ) Surface Glaze Hairline at the Chest Extending up to the Left Ear and Top of Head. This Dog Also has a Very Small Chip on the Tip of Paw as well as a has Very Minor Glaze Imperfection Spot on the Tip of its Black Nose - This Being a Kiln Decoration Flaw that Would have Occurred in the Making ( Kiln Firing Process). The Other Dog has No Damage or Other Issues. There is Some Very Light Age Glaze Crazing but that is Quite Common with the Older Staffordshire Pottery Items that were Produced.
