Designed by Josef Hoffmann, this design was first introduced as the A64F model, it is one of the most beloved designs of the 20th century and a staple in global design repertoires. Constructed from bentwood, the chair’s fluid, organic form showcases both strength and elegance. Early iterations are notable for the lack of the crossbar that reinforces the chair's structure in later versions, offering a more delicate, refined profile. The seat and backrest are crafted using the traditional cane weaving method, where individual strands of cane are threaded through the frame, creating a timeless, textured surface. Each chair is stamped with the original Stendig label on the underside. Of note, the two chairs (on the right side of the pictures) feature a slightly relaxed cane seating due to use, but the looseness is minimal and not significant. This set is in great vintage condition, especially considering its age of nearly 100 years. The wood has a beautiful patina, and the cane is intact and strong. Ready for use.
