The relief decoration on the body consists of many … Read more Unusual ovoid shaped Japanese Bronze Censer or Incense / Candle Burner. The relief decoration on the body consists of many swirling clouds, a ferocious dragon chasing the eternal flaming pearl, as well as other mythical beasts. The underside of the lid is also beautifully decorated the multiple swirling clouds.
This is a three part censer, top and body - the base is removable as well. This could be used indoors as well as outside as an ornamental piece. The lid has two small pins which keep it in place. When lit, it looks quite gorgeous - see photographs.
Made mid 20th Century and it has been used as was intended. A lovely and versatile lamp.
